Art Room
The art room is a refurbished room with facilities and equipment for a range of different art, craft and design-based activities. We understand that a high-quality art and design education should engage, inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment invent and create their own works of art, craft and design.
In KS3, students follow a tailored National Curriculum programme according to their pathway and as they progress, they learn to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of art and design. They also have the opportunity to learn how art and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of our nation. For some students activities are more Thrive based, where tasks are aimed to settle and calm individuals without the pressure of outcomes.
In KS4 students are offered the opportunity to gain BTEC entry, level 1 & 2 qualifications depending upon ability. Both GSCE Art and Photography is also offered to pathway 2 & 3 students, and a range of AQA unit awards are designed to reward pathway 1 students.
