Admission to Marland
All Residential places at Marland are ‘commissioned’ by Devon’s Statuatory SEND Team (SST) every student who attends the provision has an Education, Health and Care Plan. Most of our students come from Devon, but we also have several students from neighbouring authorities such as Plymouth, Cornwall and Somerset. Admission is via a consult from the SST and would usually follow the issuing of or review of, a student’s EHCP. All students come for a face to face ‘interview’ with their family/carers, where they will also have a tour of the school and residential facilities. Following an interview, the school are in contact with the SST stating if we feel we could meet the students needs, if this is a positive the SST will inform parents /carers of any offer of a place.
